Limnu is an online whiteboard that teachers can use for a variety of purposes, and within the program there are many tools that both students and teachers can use. Limnu allows you to go beyond what a traditional whiteboard or chalkboard can do. Limnu has many different colors and styles to choose from to write with, and their markers never dry out! There are different shapes that they will help you draw, which is super helpful when trying to draw a perfect circle for your geometry class. On limnu, the user is able to add images, notes, and links that make the board more engaging. When creating the board, the user can choose to collaborate with other people on the board, or fly solo. Within the collaboration option, the teacher can see who is on the board, and there is also a chat area that students may want to use for questions. There is even a video chat room! Limnu also has the option to export, copy, and share boards. So why would a teacher want to use Limnu instead of just writing on their physical whiteboard? If a student misses a class session, the teacher could export what they wrote on Limnu and the student can see exactly what the rest of the class saw. A huge benefit is the option to collaborate. You could have several students working on the board at the same time without having everyone crowded at the board in the front of the room. A teacher could also import a picture of a worksheet to have it projected for the class to see, and have students work through the problems. If students are working on a board outside of the classroom, they have easy assess to their classmates and teacher through the chat room and video chat room. Limnu is a fairly simple tool to use, but it allows teachers to do so much more than what the traditional chalkboard allows. Resources:
